THE producer behind a recent Bafta-winning short film has his sights set on producing feature films for the Hollywood big screen.
James Bolton, from Hadley Wood, produced the winning Bafta film I Do Air alongside director Martina Amati.
He now says he feels ready to take on feature films after his success at the prestigious film awards.
He said: “Things are at early stages - some are more developed than others but I’m hoping within the next year or two they’ll shift through the gears and we’ll be able to push them on.
“I have projects, as does Martina, so whether we’ll be doing them separately or together we’re hoping to get them off the ground.”
After starting his film career as a runner and production assistant on popular box office hits Love Actually and Alfie, the award-winning producer now has feature scripts of his own in development.
Speaking of director James Cameron, who directed Avatar, the highest-grossing film of all time, Mr Bolton said: “Let’s see if I’ll be working with James Cameron. I could do with a record-breaking box-office return!”
Amati and Bolton’s I Do Air beat a strong array of contenders to the coveted Bafta, including the winner of last year’s Virgin Media Shorts, Mixtape, and Jade, which was awarded the Silver Bear at last year’s Berlin Film Festival.
